'It's like they never miss a pass': Swansea's Galbraith renews battle with City.

Ethan Galbraith breaks into a smile as he recalls the thrilling dying seconds of Swansea's stunning fightback triumph against Nottingham Forest in the Carabao Cup. The encounter culminated with Galbraith briefly donning a fan's glasses amid the post-goal scrum.

During the final moments of stoppage time, Galbraith struck the post with a powerful shot from distance, and Cameron Burgess promptly hammered in the deflection before racing off toward the home end to celebrate, with supporters swarming the players.

Extraordinary Turnaround

The result completed an unbelievable turnaround given the Welsh side had been behind 2-0 during the latter period. During the euphoria, there was some minor mishaps. He shared, "There was a spectator sort of calling out and myself and Keysy [Josh Key] were puzzled: 'What's he on about here?' Then we noticed the glasses. It was a bit of banter putting them on. We are on the pitch as footballers but we're individuals, too, so to have a bit of craic with the fans is always good."

Premier League Giants

The victory earned a fourth-round match at home against the Premier League champions on Wednesday, opponents Galbraith ran close at the equivalent round of the FA Cup with Leyton Orient in February. The athletic midfielder had an excellent perspective when the underdogs took the lead in remarkable manner, with a teammate's volley from about way out going in via the woodwork and the opposition keeper. Many argued that it was recorded as an own goal.

"You would have hoped they would've credited him for attempting the shot from that far out," stated Galbraith, who played in the middle before switching to right flank after they changed formation. That meant facing off against the England international, with whom he traded tops, and the winger was among the opposition who complimented the way the underdogs approached the match.

City's Quality

"Physically they are exceptional but even the simple things and basic skills, they can just execute repeatedly," the midfielder notes. "It feels like they complete every delivery and they are adept at manage and neutralize a game. You can believe you're doing well and then abruptly they will just thread a ball between defenders without you even spotting it. You have to be focused every second of the game. It takes a resilient mindset and attention just to remain competitive."

Welsh Transition

Swansea pushed to sign Galbraith in January and secured his signature to sign him in the summer in a significant move. He established himself as a popular figure across two seasons at Leyton Orient and has quickly done the same in south Wales. At Orient he joined forces once more with Richie Wellens, who previously gave Galbraith his first extended run in senior football on loan at a League One side from United. Then came a temporary move at lower division Salford, before he moved on from Old Trafford.

Growth Journey

"I was perhaps a slightly green going into senior level. I think many athletes would say under-23s football is very different. Sometimes it seems possession is exchanged without serious challenge. There's not many tackles or duels. Once you start playing first-team football you have to learn quickly."

Country Call-ups

He has demonstrated that growth for club and country, excelling for his national side, who could still reach the international competition next summer via the qualifying rounds and for whom he has featured in the last several matches, including both legs games against the German national team. Ian Baraclough, Galbraith's previous international manager, offered the supreme accolade, saying he was Northern Ireland's "little Iniesta or Xavi" given how he controls possession and his knack for a decisive through ball.

Starting Out

This marks an incredible journey for the player from the local area in the Belfast suburb, just outside Belfast, who grew up watching his dad, the elder Galbraith, also a engine room operator, play for a local club.

Red Devils Debut

Galbraith's only game for the Red Devils came in Kazakhstan in 2019, a European competition trip to the host city, where they featured on an plastic turf and the venue ceiling was closed owing to conditions of -15C. "This represented a extended travel and it was cold out there," he recalls, smiling. "The days leading up, myself and quite a few of the young lads worked out jointly, so that assisted our preparation. Just to join the main group and make an appearance at the end was incredible."

Departing Old Trafford

What was the challenge was it to depart Manchester United, the club he joined from Linfield aged a teenager? "It was fairly simple, because I reached the point where I understood I wouldn't break through at the senior squad. I'm hugely grateful for the years at the club but it became apparent where I thought I required a fresh start, join a smaller club and play first-team games. Now I'm slowly climbing the ladder."

Life in Swansea

It is the middle of the day at the team's practice facility but Galbraith has an appointment at 5pm: a road rules assessment, another move in the direction of getting on the road. Prior to relocating to his new neighborhood, the mid-twenties player was a frequent passenger in Swansea's so-called fun bus, a small coach driven by club employees, the transport team, which ferries players to and from sessions and fixtures.

"It's myself Gonçalo Franco, the Brazilian, Malick Yalcouyé – a former passenger used to be in it but has got his license. It's enjoyable to interact with the guys but I'm planning to be the next one out of the minibus and on the road. Franco likes to pull a few pranks; he's always up to all sorts."

Fan Interactions

When he represented Orient, Galbraith would blend in with fans on the Tube after commuting at the area he lived in. "I tried|I attempted|My aim
